Meet Lauren: Anxious extroverted Mum barely holding it all together but SHIT her kids are cute

Hi I'm Lauren and I'm a compulsive over-sharer from Meanjin, otherwise known as Brisbane, Australia. That good looking bunch above is my little fam. I'm the one in the goggles, top left.

I'm married to a pretty tops woman named Alex. She's the other grown up pictured above. Thanks to past life me for whatever I did to deserve her in this life. On our first date I declared wholeheartedly that I'd never get married and I was definitely, absotively, posolutely NEVER having kids.

Fast forward about eight years. We've been married five, and have two daughters. Ivy's three and a half and spicy as hell. The less said about that the better. Luca is almost one and a sweet unicorn angel baby (for now). Both light up my life and smash my delicate little soul into smithereens daily. I'd like to say that's in even measure. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

I adore a big, buttery Chardonnay, all dogs, trees, really good storytelling, and am unhealthily obsessed with true crime.

I care a whole lot about a whole lot of stuff including but not limited to feminism, fairness, politics, reconciliation, women's health and experiences of birth, how fucked patriarchy is, and all things motherhood - especially telling the truth about how fucking hard it is.
